Airbus A320 : Wider seats for wider people ?

Il n'est pas question de parler concrètement d'obésité ou de surpoid mais plutôt de corpulence ... En effet, par rapport à la tendance qu'a la population de "grossir", Airbus a annoncé le Jeudi 11 Avril 2013 au dernier au salon Aircraft Interiors à Hambourg son projet d'offrir des sièges pour "passagers larges" dans les A320. Cette nouvelle option consisterait à une modification de taille des sièges couloirs dans les avions faisant leur largeur passer de 18 à 20 pouces (soit de 47,5 cm à 50,8 cm). Modification non sans conséquence car les deux autres sièges coté hublots seront donc plus étroits passants de 18 à 17 pouces (soit 47,5 à 43,1 cm).
It is not a matter of concretely talking about obesity or excess weight but rather about corpulence ... In fact, in relatyion to the tendency of the population to gain weight, Airbus annouced on Thursday April 11th 2013 at the Aircaft Interiors Show at Hambourg its proposal to equip the A320s with seats for "wide passengers". That new option consists in modifying the width of the seats. The seats located on the corridor side will increase from 18 to 20 inches and the width of the seats located near the window will decrease from 18 to 17 inches.

L'avionneur européen veut donc élargir sa clientèle grâce à l'option des sièges larges à tout ses clients et pas seulement aux américains. Ces sièges fabriqués par la société américains B/E Aérospace pourraient éventuellements êtres choisis par les passagers plus large lorsqu'ils réserverons leurs billets ce qui permettrai de compenser l'impossibilité d'une "taxe au poid" selon Air Journal ... Des discussions sont en cours entre Airbus et des clients potentiels au sujet de ces nouveaux sièges.
The european munufacturer wants to expand its clientele thanks to the wide seat option for every customers and not only for americans. THose seats made by B/E Aerospace could be chosen by wider passengers when they will take their plane tickets what will allow to offset the impossibility of a "weight tax" according to Air Journal ... Talks are in progress between Airbus and its possible customers about their seats.
